Muay Thai

Just like in any other city, you can find a host of sporting possibilities in Chiangrai. The most well known is the sports stadium. Besides the football field with its spectator stands, it includes an Olympic swimming pool and tennis courts. There is a running track as well, where you can go jogging or do aerobics. A number of gymnasiums and sports centres can also be found in the city. There, you can watch the typical Thai sports 'Sepak Takraw' (a kind of foot-volleyball) and 'Muay Thai' (the famous Thai boxing). Important competitions occur regularly. There are many places where you can have a traditional massage after having done sporting activity. On our project location, we likewise have a competition swimming pool (25m). The direct surroundings of the project are also wonderfully suited for walking and jogging. Although the city does offer fantastic opportunities for meeting friends, perhaps compatriots, we have decided to have a restaurant on our own location, which has an excellent kitchen and an inviting clubhouse. You therefore do not need to travel far for social contact and activities such as playing cards, chess, and reading or just chatting.

Golf has a special place in the array of sporting activities. Thailand has been totally captivated by golf. At first, it was an elite sport, but now more and more people are playing and prices are no longer as high. In comparison to Europe, golf can even be said to be cheap in Thailand. But of greater importance are the superbly laid out and maintained greens. It is a very social sport and is therefore in Thailand a way of making friends and meeting interesting people. An example is the 'Santiburi' complex. It is one of the most beautiful courses, close to the city and less than four kilometres away from our Sanuk Residences. In the city itself, there are a number of driving ranges and a little further away, you can find the well-known golf resorts, such as 'Waterfort Valley'.
