A multifunctional Lanna house

This patio house is suited for commercial use as well as for a residential home, for which certain features can be made 'to measure' so as to make the house your dream home.

It is suited for the commercial use of the investor who wishes to generate an income by having a tenant. Or it could be used privately by a family with or without children or by other permanent residents, such as a housekeeper. It is also suitable for people who want more space for a spa with a sauna or an atelier or a room that is slightly set apart from the remainder of the house. This house consists of a main building for the main residents and a separate building (studio) to rent out, or to be used for purposes such as those mentioned above. This type of domicile offers a lot of privacy. The building style is solid and practical, with a roofline that is not particularly high, but very interesting.

The central area

Because the studio is completely separate from the main house, including the garden house, the area between the two buildings can be made smaller or larger according to the client's wishes and can be given a desired function. You could consider a splendid swimming pool, integrated into a patio. A beautiful garden, with or without a rock garden or water feature, would pose no problem to combine with the house. The possibilities are endless. For example, besides a swimming pool with a sun terrace, you could consider constructing a tennis court, or something completely different, like a Japanese ornamental garden.

The patio is created by the covered terrace with a separate 'Sala', the Thai word for garden house. These individual terraced areas all have different rooflines, which give the whole ambience something rather playful and unique. Hence, the total area has a lot of outdoor living space, where there is always a breeze and, if desired, an undisturbed view right around.

The studios

The access to the covered garage is located next to the entrance. A garden path leads you from the garage, around the corner to the kitchen door. If you walk further, you reach the large inner courtyard, which can be used as the owner pleases. On the left side, is the entrance to the two studios (or the rooms used for other purposes). In the original plans, the studios comprise of a living/bedroom with a pantry, basin and cooking facilities in the next room. You can reach the spacious bathroom that includes a bath, by walking through the cooking room. This space could be utilized as an outdoor shower that could be accessed from inside or as an outdoor storage room. Of course, a combination of the two is possible.

The house

The main building is shaped like an 'L'. The various rooms, such as the kitchen, living room, study and the bedroom can all be accessed from the inner courtyard. You enter the kitchen by a door and the other rooms through French sliding doors.

The kitchen is semi-open and if desired by the owners, can be complemented with a bar. The living room is situated next to the kitchen. From the living room, there is an undisturbed view of the beautiful garden or swimming pool. The opposite wall has large windows, which make the living area extremely light and give an open view on all sides. If desired, a separating wall or a piece of furniture could be positioned in the living room, in order to create a space that could be used for study or hobby purposes. All the requirements needed for your personal computer are also located in this area.

The bedroom is accessed via the study. This is extremely spacious and on one side, it has a direct view of the inner courtyard, while on the other side there is a view of the gorgeous natural scenery surrounding the project. A modern and very spacious bathroom with a creative design that can be adapted to suit the owners completes this multifunctional and luxurious home.

Although this house allows you to enjoy the magnificent views in many ways, it is also a house that can easily be built on the smaller sections of our resort. What characterizes the home, is that it is entirely enclosed, but this feature can be adjusted to suit the owner's wishes regarding the outdoor area. This domicile offers the future residents a lot of privacy, in addition to which the large open space in the centre of the house can make dreams be transformed into a luxurious reality.
